Dr Amit Kumar Ghosh

Dr. Amit Kumar Ghosh is one of India's experienced neurosurgeons with over two decades of expertise in brain, spine, and functional neurosurgery. He currently serves as Consultant Neurosurgeon and In-Charge of Unit I at the Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata. He is recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions to neurosurgery, research, teaching, and innovation. He completed his MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College and earned his DNB in Neurosurgery after extensive residency training at the National Neurosciences Centre, Kolkata. He further enhanced his expertise through fellowships in Microneurosurgery (Japan), Neuro-endoscopy, and Functional & Epilepsy Surgery at The Ohio State University, USA. Dr. Ghosh has authored numerous scientific publications in reputed international journals and actively participates in neurosurgical research involving brain tumors, epilepsy, movement disorders, traumatic brain injury, and neuromodulation. He is also a faculty member for the National Board of Examinations and serves as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Calcutta. His excellence has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including Outstanding Clinician of Neurosurgery (2018) and Top Neurosurgeon of the Year (2025)
